Marc Wootton

Marc Wootton is an actor and award-winning comedian.

He made his name with shows including My New Best Friend, High Spirits with Shirley Ghostman, and La La Land, all of which he starred in and co-wrote.

He played Moose in The Completely Made-Up Adventures of Dick Turpin, which is now streaming on Apple TV. Marc has featured in several series, including Inside No. 9, Teenage Euthanasia, Nighty Night, Way to Go and Gavin & Stacey, along with programmes like Question Team and Drunk History: UK.

Perhaps best known for his role as the beloved Mr Poppy in the film series Nativity!, Marc has also had roles The Bad Education Movie and The Harry Hill Movie. On stage, he most recently appeared in Til The Stars Come Down at the National Theatre.

Most recently, Marc wrote and starred in the short film The Art of the Lie, where he plays a director shooting a rockumentary who must become the subject, in a blend of fiction, reality and music video.

In 2018, Marc created and starred in the sitcom High & Dry, which broadcast on Channel 4, about a group of passengers and crew whose flight crash lands leaving them stranded on a deserted island in the Indian Ocean.
